SCCR was formed in 2017 by citizens of the Snohomish County who wanted to address a growing concern for corruption of industry and government, heavy use of residential chemicals, massive toxic pesticide spraying on industrial timber plantations, potential toxic contamination of watersheds and drinking water sources, harm to the communities, watersheds, ecosystems, economy, and climate.
We are working with the Community Environmental Legal Defense Fund (CELDF). This non-profit organisation assist communities worldwide with development of the first-in-the-nation, groundbreaking laws for environmental rights, workers’ rights, homeless rights, democratic rights, and the Rights of Nature. It also provides free and low-cost legal services, grassroots organizing, and education support, to communities and governments facing injustice.
