Comment in Everett Herald: “Stand up for Snohomish River by seeking legal rights”

“The recent U.S. Supreme Court decision to overturn the “Chevron deference” standard marks a significant shift in the environmental regulatory landscape. But amidst this setback, there’s an opportunity for a bolder approach; granting legal rights to nature itself.”

As of August 9, 2024, the Standing for the Snoho initiative has officially qualified for the November 5, 2024 ballot in Everett, Washington. This November, the Everett Initiative 24-03 could grant legal standing to Snohomish River and its watershed for better protection.

Everett residents: Vote YES for 24-03 on November 5th!
